Gamification in Store: A Wow Experience for Magenta

For Magenta, DMS created another wow experience: customers and prospects were to be activated directly in-store through an interactive game. For our team, it once again meant: Challenge? Accepted! Because our goal is always the same with every case: it's about creating excitement.

Scratch & Win – The Scratch-Card Game

To strengthen the customer relationship and drive brand engagement, things got playful: with a scratch-card game right on visitors' own smartphones. The action was activated through digital content in the store – via QR code, participants could jump straight in.

As an incentive, there wasn't just a give-away for all players, but by chance, also the big prize: entry into a sweepstake across several Austrian states with the chance to win the grand prize, a tablet. Nothing to lose, but so much to gain – no wonder almost everyone joined in.

Playing Their Way to Brand Engagement

The charm of the campaign: the content and the game genuinely had to resonate with participants, otherwise in-store gamification simply doesn't work. That's exactly what we focused on in this case – every detail had to be right to create that wow feeling.

In Good Company: Our Scope of Work

DMS was responsible for:

• Hardware: Commissioning and adaptation of the digital displays in-store
• Instore Consulting: Secret shopping and consulting on the activation strategy
• Game Development: Backend, frontend, and UX of the scratch-card game, including testing
• Content Integration: Integration of content supplied by the Vienna-based agency Donner Wetter Blitz
